Color is color. Skin is skin. Different is different.
Skin as white, red , black , brown ,green, orange, yellow….Nothing that is below, nothing that is above.
Eyes that varies but still functions the same. Don’t it? or believe it.
All part of one race called the human race. It is not a race of wars. Not a race of skin. Not a race of color. Is it that hollow? Too dark to pierce an arrow of realisation.
Can we learn equality? Open our eyes to no more wicked superiority. Insecurities arising from society’s standards and injustice. Is this the predicament we choose to practise or are we all active in this negative achievement?
Color is color. Skin is skin. Different is different.

This is a very powerful poem. My boyfriend is Indian (born Sikh actually but now an atheist) and I am a white girl. I like to think today’s world is accepting, but not always. not always tbh. I think it is important that you write about stuff like this. Keep writing π

Thanks a lot. I’m actually living in India. So I know how it is with skin color. I’m not calling out to all Indians but most of them take skin color as a very important aspect in a person. Fair is considered beautiful. A dark girl in India could be invincible. I believe in interracial relationships having been born of a Nigerian father and an Indian mother. All the best in your interracial relationship.

Thank you π it is so lovely to speak to someone actually from India who will have an idea of how it is for me and my bf. We are living in the UK which prides itself on equality etc, but some people still do not seem to understand it at all. My bf is Indian but was born in London. I live in the midlands, born to English/Irish parents. We face a lot of kinda under the surface challenges, but I have faith in us as a couple π

Don’t let others spoil the love you have for each other. My father got married to my mother when it was a taboo and an abomination. People wouldn’t even sit with them in a bus. They would walk out of the bus and leave then both in it. So you see that the world has definitely changed. And I hope for the best for both of you. Keep loving eachother. Racism is just a disease that some people can’t get cured of.

Very true. That is amazing what your parents put up with. Good for them. I am in awe!

Thanks a lot. Yeah my parents had it rough during their time. People were not very supportive of interracial marriages that time. But today it is better.

So glad I checked this poem of yours out. Thank you for the link.
I feel that in today’s world as you have said people are distinguished upon colour. If you are white you are treated in one way if you are dark another. I feel that we shouldn’t judge a person upon his colour because at the end of the day we are questioning God’s creation, and I don’t think that is what we are meaning to do. What do you think Grace?

Thank you for bringing in the fact that we are all made in God’s image and to his own liking. God’s creativity is being turned into criticism. Mam will always find something to be wicked about. Or a reason to create levels and seclusion. It is wrong to question God’s creation. Every color is beautiful. Every race is beautiful. When I tell people I consider almost everyone beautiful, they tell me it can’t be possible. But why look at people and use the media and society’s standard to judge them. I look at each person in God’s eyes. Everyone is beautifully made. Though there are people who are just insecure and want to make others feel bad for looking a specific way. But people are people. Only God that sees the best in us.

I am so glad you agree with me about this, surprisingly not a lot would. Nowadays, if we don’t like an aspect about ourselves we change it by Plastic Surgery, changing our style of talk something. That is actually distancing ones self from the God who made us. Sometimes surgery is important but not to change something that is beautiful about ourselves. This world we live in does judge us as people on everything we do, but we can become better by changing. It does take time. If only we could grant wishes and wish it all to be better.

Yes. It’s the media that have created this trends and statements of what beauty is supposed to look like. If people looked at it the way God looks at it, there wouldn’t be anything as the ideal beauty. Everyone would be beautiful. And I have to blogs. You basically followed my second blog. The link to my poetry blog is this.

The media are throwing fuel to a lit fire that needs to be extinguished, yet, nobody seems to have the time to help the fire turn to ash. I will certainly check out your poetry blog. I loved your poem about race.

Yes. Everyone seems to be following the media’s tail. Though they complain but they still strive to be what the media tells them to be. Hypocritical I tell you. Your words <3. The media truly pour more fuel to lit the fire and Everyone is busy helping create ashes. π I totally love our conversations. β€ and thanks for checking out my poetry blog. π π

I agree with you very strongly. Sometimes what the media does isn’t for the best yet sometimes it is.

Wow! Beautiful!! When I was a kid I used to love that song, “Red and yellow, black and white, all are precious in His (Jesus’) sight.” How much this world needs that truth now. We are all special; we all have a purpose. A great post! π

Exactly. Just like black and white by Michael Jackson. The video embodies the beautiful variety of amazing races we have in this world and we should be proud of it and embrace eachother.
